Written and performed by Lottie Willis from Sunderlands’ Young Musician Project, this beautiful Music video for ‘Voices’ has been made by young women aged 12-18 years from the YWFA as part of a summer 2020 film project. The film was created in just 7 days with workshops delivered exclusively online and filmed entirely on mobile phones. The project was Funded by the Tampon Tax Fund from County Durham Community Foundation.

At this time of crisis because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Young Women’s Film Academy will need to work differently for the foreseeable future.

We have taken into account government advice on social distancing to stop the spread of the virus, and as such our face-to-face work on funded outreach projects and our Saturday Club have now moved online.

The Young Women’s Film Academy is a unique charity in seeking to improve the well-being and good mental health of young women in the North East through creative work and film making. This feels like an even more important aim during this challenging time for young people.

Therefore, we will still be providing support to young women and girls through moving to the use of online interaction to allow the young women we already work with – and others who wish to join us – to engage in our provision.

Stay safe and well.
