Ms Venture’s School For Super Lasses

Join us as we celebrate the Online Premiere of The Young Women’s Film Academy’s latest short film. ‘Ms Venture’s School for Super Lasses’.

Ms Venture’s School for Super Lasses was written by our Saturday Club supported by writer Fiona Evans. The film stars young women from the academy and was produced by a team of exclusively female crew, with Charlie Hardwick directing alongside a superb mentoring team.

At this time of crisis because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Young Women’s Film Academy will need to work differently for the foreseeable future.

We have taken into account government advice on social distancing to stop the spread of the virus, and as such our face-to-face work on funded outreach projects and for our Saturday Club has now ceased.

The Young Women’s Film Academy is a unique charity in seeking to improve the well-being and good mental health of young women in the North East through creative work and film making. This feels like an even more important aim during this challenging time for young people.

Therefore, we will still be providing support to young women and girls through moving to the use of online interaction to allow the young women we already work with – and others who wish to join us – to engage in our provision.

Our regular fortnightly Saturday Club is still meeting up virtually, and we have plans for an Easter Holidays online film school.

Stay safe and well.
