Social Action Film Making for Schools
Every year The Young Women’s Film Academy make a Social Action Film with girls and young women from the local community. The film made focuses on the stories the young women want to tell about the issues they feel need to be heard.
These films follow a 12 month engagement programme beginning in January and culminating in a premiere in our annual celebration event in December.
The film made is always led by the young women and supported by a professional all female mentor team that work in industry.
The film produced is then toured to local schools and youth centres in the North East region accompanied by workshops and a CPD resource for Teachers to ensure the film has impact and legacy.
Our films have been nominated and shortlisted for regional and national awards.
