”We were delighted to work with the Young Women’s Film Academy on the production of the promo film for B.O.P Fest, our award winning climate action music festival, produced by our youth board.
Helen WardDirector Jack Drum Arts CIC
Our youth board chose to work with YWFA because of their commitment to supporting young women and girls to develop filmmaking skills, and find their voice through creative storytelling using film. Their strong values around equality, diversity, and inclusion align perfectly with those of Jack Drum Arts, and we were confident they would bring care and integrity to the film commission.
On the day of B.O.P Fest, their young filmmaking team brought creativity, professionalism, and a lovely energy to the task. It was inspiring for members of the public to see a group of talented young women leading the production process, and they truly captured the spirit and message of the festival.
The final film was powerful and exactly what we hoped for, and our youth board were thrilled with the results! I would highly recommend the Young Women’s Film Academy for any filmmaking commission, especially as working with them also supports a social enterprise that provides free opportunities for young women and girls.
Working with YWFA was an incredible experience. We had never created a video before, and didn't know where to begin. Jade, our expert guide, understood that the women we worked with were the true experts in their own stories. She empowered them to produce an amazing video. We used this video as part of a funding application, and we WON! Thank you so much, YWFA!

Working with the Young Women’s Film Academy on our charity’s strategy launch video was an incredibly rewarding experience. From the outset, the team brought creativity, empathy, and professionalism to every stage of the project.
The young women approached the project with maturity and passion. Their storytelling powerfully conveyed the ambition of our new strategy while ensuring that the voices and experiences of families—who remain at the heart of everything we do—were front and centre throughout.
We are proud to have collaborated with an organisation that empowers young women through film while making a meaningful difference in the community. We look forward to working together again in the future.
